Entercom News/Talk “106.3 WORD” WYRD Simpsonville/Greenville SC has added an additional signal on Ted McCall’s 101.5 W270AM Anderson.
The move give WYRD coverage of the southern part of the Greenville/Spartanburg market and is being fed via an HD subchannel of 93.7 WFBC-FM Greenville.
Previously on 101.9, the translator previously rebroadcast First Baptist Spartanburg/Radio Training Network’s Christian CHR “The Z” WHRZ-LP Spartanburg.
Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and one of the two largest radio broadcasters in the U.S., announced the expansion of Greenville station 106.3 WORD (WYRD-FM) to 101.5 FM, effective immediately. The addition of this frequency extends the reach of the Upstate’s No. 1 news talk radio station to Anderson County.

Entercom launched 106.3 WORD in 2008 as 106.3 FM in Greenville and Spartanburg County, which had previously only broadcast on 1330 AM. The addition of the new translator will now allow the station to bring its signal to Anderson for the first time in the frequency’s 30-year history.
