The previously announced sale of Variety Hits “Fox-FM” 94.3 WFCX Leland/Traverse City from Northern Broadcasting to Central Michigan University has been filed with the FCC with a $500,000 price attached. After the sale WFCX will join the “WCMU Public Radio” Public News/Talk network based at 89.5 WCMU-FM Mount Pleasant. Northern Broadcasting also sold Rock 97.5 WKLT Kalkaska to Midwestern Broadcasting Company for $450,000 this week.
Riverside Broadcasting sells Brokered Chinese 1040 KXPD Tigard/Portland OR to Irina Baranova’s PIN Investments for $200,000. The station will transition to programming to the Russian community in Portland with a Time Brokerage Agreement set to take place ahead of the sale closing.
Jaime McKibbin’s McKibbin Media Group buys Full Service AC 1340 WCSR/99.5 W258DE and 92.1 WCSR-FM Hillsdale MI from Michael Flynn’s WCSR Inc. in a split deal where he will pay $575,000 for the station assets and $100,000 for the real estate. McKibbin recently purchased Jackson Radio Works three stations in nearby Jackson MI.
Just outside Peoria, WPW Broadcasting sells News/Talk 1560 WBYS/93.7 W229BZ and Country “CD Country 107.9” WCDD Canton IL to David Brown’s Illiana Communications for $42,000. An LMA took effect in October.
Chesapeake-Portsmouth Broadcasting sells Spanish Christian 1600 WCPK Chesapeake/Norfolk VA to Hosanna Media Christian Group for $250,000. Hosanna Media has been operating WCPK via Time Brokerage Agreement since January 2014 and the $199,000 paid so far in brokerage fees will be placed towards the purchase.
After a $30,000 sale to Zoe Communications in June failed to close, Matthew Butler’s Shire & Shore Communications sells 95.3 WVVE Grand Marais MN to Daniel Hatfield for $25,000. Hatfield, the head of former Christian non-commercial network Refuge Media Group, also owns Duluth market Sports “92.1 The Fan” WWAX Hermantown and “100.9 The Jock” 1490 KJOQ/100.9 W265DO as Twin Ports Radio LLC. An LMA of WVVE will take effect on January 15.
Joe and Teddie Evans’ Evans Broadcasting sells AC “98.5 The Fox” KIFX Naples UT to Steve and Lisa Evans for $350,000. The sale will place KIFX in a cluster with News/Talk 920 KVEL/104.5 K283BN and “Eagle Country 105.5” KLCY Vernal UT.
Southeast Missouri State University acquires Christian 91.3 KBIY Van Buren MO from New Life Evangelistic Center for $45,000. KBIY will become a simulcast of Public News/Talk 90.9 KRCU Cape Girardeau.

Four Rivers Community Broadcasting sells 93.1 W226AS Shermans Dale PA to Cumberland Valley Christian Radio for $1. W226AS already rebroadcasts the buyer’s Christian “The Bridge” 91.3 WPFG Carlisle.
