Entercom has parted ways with the morning shows at two of its stations in San Diego.
AJ Machado and Sara Perry depart Classic Hits “Sunny 98.1” KXSN. The duo moved to KXSN from sister AC 96.5 KYXY in January 2018. Machado has been a staple in San Diego morning radio since 1999. He spent ten years at iHeartMedia CHR “Channel 93.3” KHTS before moving to sister Hot AC “Star 94.1” KMYI in 2009. He joined “Energy 103.7” in 2012 soon after its flip to CHR and then moved to KYXY in August 2017. Perry joined KYXY with Machado in 2017 after spending 15 years at 100.7 KFMB-FM through multiple formats.
Dana DiDonato and Jayson Prim exit Alternative “Alt 94.9” KBZT. DiDonato and Prim joined KBZT in March 2017 after working together at Cox CHR 106.1 WBLI Patchogue NY. She had spent eleven years at WBLI with multiple co-hosts and previously worked for Entercom at Variety Hits “98.7 Simon” WSMW Greensboro NC using the air name “AJ” and was also part of the Danny & Zack show on “K92” WXLK Roanoke. Prim spent three years with DiDonato at WBLI after an acting career in New York.
The changes at KBZT and KXSN come on the same day as iHeartMedia debuting new morning shows on CHR “Channel 93.3” KHTS-FM and Hip-Hop “Jam’n 95.7” KSSX.
