For the second time in seven months, AJ Machado is changing stations in San Diego.
Machado first moved from CHR “Energy 103.7” KEGY to CBS Radio sister AC 96.5 KYXY last August. He was paired with Sara Perry and Hula Ramos at KYXY and now the three of them are moving to new Entercom sister Classic Hits “Sunny 98.1” KXSN for mornings effective Thursday, February 1 where it will be rebranded as “AJ & Sara on Sunny 98.1”.
Machado has been a staple in San Diego morning radio since 1999. He spent ten years at iHeartMedia CHR “Channel 93.3” KHTS before moving to sister Hot AC “Star 94.1” KMYI in 2009. He joined “Energy 103.7” in 2012 soon after its flip to CHR and then moved to KYXY in August 2017. Perry joined KYXY with Machado after spending 15 years at 100.7 KFMB-FM through multiple formats.
KYXY’s new lineup will see Susan DeVincent move from afternoons to mornings, Dorothy Tran moves from nights at KXSN to middays, and Joe Rosati goes from middays to afternoons.
