Loud Media will pay $150,000 for the stations with the purchase split as $30,000 for the licenses, $1000 for the WVNR real estate, and $119,000 for the WNYV real estate.
Original Report 5/5: Border Media LLC and A&J Radio have announced they are merging their operations as Loud Media and acquiring Classic Hits “Lakes Region Radio” 94.1 WNYV Whitehall/Glens Falls NY, 1340 WVNR and the CP for 96.3 W242DF Poultney VT from Pine Tree Broadcasting Company for an undisclosed amount.
The new organization has begun operating WNYV/WVNR via LMA. It will join holdings that include A&J Radio’s stations in Plattsburgh NY and Knoxville TN and Border Media’s holdings in Albany and Saratoga NY. The company also leases Appaloosa Broadcasting’s two stations in Fort Collins CO that it relaunched last fall.

Saratoga Springs based “Loud Media” is pleased to announce that they have entered into an agreement with PINE TREE BROADCASTING COMPANY to acquire WNYV, Whitehall NY, WVNR Poultney VT, and its W242DF Poultney VT, FM translator construction permit. Both stations currently simulcast and are known as “Lakes Region Radio.”
Bob Mahlman represented the buyer for this transaction, which is expected to close by the end Summer 2020, subject to FCC approval. Loud Media took over the operations of the two stations via immediate Local Marketing Agreement.

WVNR was established in Poultney, VT in 1981 and acquired by Pine Tree Broadcasting in 1986. WNYV-FM was built in 1990. The company is owned by Michael Leech and the radio stations have been operated by his sister Judith Leech, who serves as General Manager at Lakes Region Radio.
