Seven Mountains Media has brought its “Bigfoot Country” brand to Stroudsburg PA with a minor hiccup.
The new format has debuted exclusively on 840 WVPO Stroudsburg as the sign-on of its new translator 103.1 W276DG Stroudsburg has been delayed until next week. WVPO previously carried ESPN Radio network programming.
The new format creates a local competitor to Cumulus Media’s “Cat Country 96” WCTO Easton PA which began simulcasting its programming but running separate spotloads on 107.1 WWYY Belvidere NJ/Stroudsburg last October.
WVPO will feature the syndicated Big D and Bubba in mornings and former WCTO morning co-host Becca Lynn in afternoons. Becca departed WCTO last September after 15 years in mornings alongside Sam Malone.
Seven Mountains Media also owns Hot AC 93.5 WSBG in the Stroudsburg area. The company acquired both stations from Connoisseur Media last August for $1.1 million.
