Chad Heritage Joins WGKX/WKIM-FM Memphis As Program Director

Cumulus Media has appointed Chad Heritage as Program Director for Country “Kix 106” 105.9 WGKX and Soft AC “98.9 The Bridge” WKIM-FM Memphis.

Heritage spent 23 years at iHeartMedia Little Rock until being let go in January’s cuts where he programmed Country “KSSN 96” and Classic Country “105.1 The Wolf” KMJX. He added Senior VP/Programming duties for the cluster in 2006 and National Country Brand Coordinator in 2009. Earlier in his career Heritage worked on-air in Memphis at “FM 100” WMC-FM. He had joined Townsquare Media as Director of Content for the company’s Killeen/Temple TX cluster in June.

Heritage succeeds Duane Shannon as Program Director. Shannon will continue hosting mornings at WGKX with his wife Abby.

Heritage joins Cumulus Memphis from iHeartMedia, where he was National Brand Coordinator since 2009 and Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia, Little Rock, AR, since 2006. He also served as Program Director of KSSN/KMJX for the past 23 years. Heritage’s stations have won multiple CMA Radio Station of the Year for Medium Market awards. He holds a B.S. degree in Communications from Arkansas State University.
