NRG Media has announced the addition of David Adams as Program Director of Hot AC “Sweet 98.5” KQKQ, Variety Hits “101.9 The Keg” KOOO, and Rhythmic CHR “Power 106.9” KOPW Omaha.
Adams most recently spent nine years with iHeartMedia until exiting in January’s layoffs. He joined iHeart in 2010 as Program Director of Classic Hits 95.7 WRIT and CHR “97.3 Radio Now” WRNW Milwaukee before moving to St. Louis in 2015 to program Classic Hits 103.3 KLOU. In November 2016 he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Programming for the company’s Tucson cluster. He also has programmed CHR 101.5 WBNQ Bloomington IL.
Adams starts in his new position on November 16 filling the hole created by Jay Michaels’ departure for Waterloo Media’s new CHR “93.3 Austin” KGSR in September.
NRG Media in Omaha has tapped David Adams to program KQKQ – SWEET 98.5, KOPW – POWER 106.9 and 101.9 THE KEG. NRG Media General Manager Mark Shecterle made the announcement Monday morning.
David is an experienced program director with an excellent track record of delivering ratings and revenue growth, and who will bring outstanding leadership to NRG Media, according to Shecterle. David most recently served as an SVP of Programming for IHeartMedia in Tucson. Prior to that David also programmed stations for IHeartMedia in St. Louis and Milwaukee, and he served as the Program Director for Townsquare Media in Bloomington, IL.
Shecterle stated, “I could not be more excited to have a true professional like David join our team in Omaha. David is an incredibly smart programmer who has had great success throughout his career. He is going to bring leadership, coaching, training and outstanding relationships. I was extremely impressed throughout the interview process on David’s programming philosophy, how he leads his on-air staff and the importance of having a strong relationship with the sales department”.

David will start in Omaha on Monday, November 16, 2020.
