With today’s launch of their new morning and afternoon shows, Griffin Communications will rebrand Country 98.5 KVOO-FM Tulsa as “98.5 The Bull” at noon today.
The rebranding comes with the addition of former WSIX Nashville afternoon hosts Tige & Daniel for mornings alongside incumbent co-host Amber Glaze and the syndicated Bud & Broadway for afternoons. Afternoon host Nikki Reid moves to middays, while Tanner Messer remains in evenings.
KVOO had a 3.0 share in the October 2020 Nielsen Audio ratings, placing it well behind Cox Media’s “K95.5” KWEN’s 6.7 share but just ahead of iHeartMedia’s “106.1 The Twister” KTGX’s 2.9 share in the battle of the three current based Country outlets in the market. Griffin’s Classic Country “Big Country 99.5” KXBL added an additional 5.1 shares of the audience going to Country listening. We first indicated the likelihood of a rebranding to The Bull in our 11/15 Domain Insight.
