iHeartMedia flipped Soft AC “100.9 The Breeze” K265CA/KZRR-HD2 Albuquerque to Hip Hop “Power 100.9” this afternoon.
The move resurrects the format to the signal as it previously was “100.9 The Beat” from January 2015 until December 2018. The new brand is launching with 10,000 songs commercial-free and positioning as “Albuquerque’s Hip Hop and R&B”.
The now-former “Breeze” had a 0.7 share in the December 2020 Nielsen Audio ratings. The new format places K265CA back in direct format competition with American General Media’s “Kiss 97.3” KKSS, which currently is tied for the market lead with a 5.7 share.
