Nielsen Audio has released Day 2 of its monthly four day sweep of ratings in PPM markets.
Today’s releases include Washington DC, Boston, Miami, Seattle, Detroit, Phoenix, Minneapolis, San Diego, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Denver, Baltimore, and St. Louis.

Public News/Talk 88.5 WAMU retains its lead in Washington DC with a 10.2 to 9.7 slide. Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP drops 9.9 to 9.0. Howard University Adult R&B 96.3 WHUR holds steady at a 8.1 share. iHeartMedia AC 97.1 WASH rises to fourth with a 5.9 to 6.2 gain, while sister Classic Rock “Big 100” WBIG-FM rises 4.7 to 5.1.
Cumulus Media Conservative Talk 105.9 WMAL drops over two share points from a 6.0 to 3.9.
Beasley Classic Hits 105.7 WROR Boston remains on top with a 7.5 to 7.7 rise. Co-owned “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM jumps to second with a 6.1 to 6.9 gain. iHeartMedia CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM rebounds 6.2 to 6.4, but co-owned News/Talk 1030 WBZ slips from a first place tie to fourth 7.5 to 6.4. iHeartMedia Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX holds steady at a 6.1 share.
Cox Media Group holds the top two spots in Miami with Soft AC “Easy 93.1” WFEZ steady at a 9.1 share and Adult R&B “Hot 105” WHQT rising 7.6 to 8.2. Audacy AC “101.5 Lite-FM” WLYF rises 5.6 to 6.1. SBS Spanish Oldies “Zeta 92.3” WCMQ holds in fourth 5.4 to 5.6, with Univision Spanish AC “Amor 107.5” WAMR falling right behind down 5.6 to 5.5.
Bonneville News/Talk 97.3 KIRO-FM drops 7.3 to 6.4 but retains the top spot in Seattle. Audacy Rock 99.9 KISW moves up to second while down 6.5 to 6.0. Public News/Talk 94.9 KUOW-FM falls to third 6.7 to 5.6. AAA 90.3 KEXP sets a station record for the third straight month rising to fourth with a 4.3 – 4.9 – 5.3 trend. Sinclair News 1000 KOMO/97.7 KOMO-FM (5.7 – 5.2 – 5.0) and Hubbard AC “Warm 106.9” KRWM with a big (3.6 – 4.5 – 5.0) trend tie for fifth.
iHeartMedia AC “99.9 KEZ” KESZ stays on top in Phoenix but trends down 7.3 – 7.1 – 6.4. Co-owned Country 102.5 KNIX trends up to second 5.2 – 5.4 – 5.7. Hubbard Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX jumps up to third 4.8 to 5.5. iHeartMedia Variety Hits “95.5 The Mountain” KYOT places fourth 5.0 to 4.8, while their Conservative Talk 550 KFYI slips down 6.0 – 5.3 – 4.5 to tie with Hubbard’s Rock “98 KUPD” (4.7 to 4.5).
Riviera Broadcasting’s “94.9/95.1 The Wow Factor” KOAI continues to show growth as it moves up 2.5 – 3.0 – 3.3. Also trending upward is Audacy Country 107.9 KMLE 2.6 – 2.8 – 3.5. Trending downward is iHeartMedia Hot AC “Mix 96.9” KMXP 3.0 – 2.6 – 2.5.
Audacy Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC jumps to the lead in Detroit with a 6.2 to 7.2 gain. iHeartMedia Adult R&B “Mix 92.3” WMXD falls to second but rises 6.6 to 6.8. Beasley’s duo of Rock 101.1 WRIF (5.0 to 5.7) and Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX (5.5 to 5.3) follow. iHeartMedia AC 100.3 WNIC ranks fifth sliding 6.1 to 5.3.
Hubbard Hot AC “KS 95” KSTP-FM remains in the lead in Minneapolis with a 9.8 to 9.3 slide. Public News/Talk 91.1 KNOW-FM holds in second but tumbles down 8.5 to 7.1. iHeartMedia Sports “100.3 KFAN” KFXN-FM holds in third 7.4 to 6.7. iHeartMedia Classic Hits “Kool 108” KQQL rises 5.7 to 6.5, while Northwestern Media Christian AC 98.5 KTIS-FM is up 5.1 to 5.7.
Audacy Country “102.9 The Wolf” KMNB drops 2.5 to 1.8, while Milestone Radio’s subsurban “Bob Total Country” 106.1 KLCI rises 2.4 to 2.6 and iHeartMedia’s “K102” KEEY holds at 5.3.
Public News/Talk 89.5 KPBS-FM (6.4 – 6.3) and Audacy Classic Hits “98.1 Sunny-FM” KXSN (6.2 – 6.3) tie for first in San Diego. Univision Regional Mexican “Que Buena 106.5” KLNV is third 5.6 to 5.7. iHeartMedia Hot AC “Star 94.1” KMYI jumps up 4.5 to 5.4 to tie for fourth with News/Talk 600 KOGO (5.3 to 5.4).
Broadcast Company of America’s Variety Hits “100.7 Big-FM” KFBG trends up 3.6 to 4.2, while iHeartMedia Classic Rock 101.5 KGB-FM falls 3.7 to 2.9.
Cox Soft AC 105.5 WDUV is back in sole possession of the Tampa market lead as it rises 7.0 to 8.5. Beasley Media Classic Hits “Q105” WRBQ moves up to second while holding at a 6.5 share. Radio Training Network’s Christian AC “The Joy FM” 88.1 WJIS/91.5 WCIE falls from a tie for first to third down 7.0 to 5.4. Cox Classic Rock “107.3 The Eagle” WXGL is fourth 4.8 to 4.9, while Cox AC “Magic 94.9” WWRM rises 4.1 to 4.6.
iHeartMedia CHR 93.3 WFLZ falls to what ratings expert Chris Huff notes is its lowest share since before it flipped to the “Power Pig” in 1989. WFLZ trends down 4.7 – 3.1 – 2.7, while Cox Media’s competing CHR “Hot 101.5” WPOT hovers 3.3 – 2.9 – 3.1.
Bonneville Country 98.5 KYGO leads Denver while slipping 7.4 to 6.8. Public News/Talk 90.1 KCFR is second for the publicly listed stations with a 7.1 to 6.1 fall. Both Classic Rockers follow with iHeartMedia’s “103.5 The Fox” KRFX up 5.3 to 5.8, while Audacy’s “99.5 The Mountain” KQMT tying for fourth with a 4.5 to 5.1 gain. Bonneville AC 101.1 KOSI shares the tie up 4.8 to 5.1.
Surging up in Denver are a pair of non-commercial signals. Jazz 89.3 KUVO rises from 0.9 to 1.9, while AAA “105.5 The Colorado Sound” KJAC jumps 0.3 to 1.3.
Radio One’s combo remains on top in Baltimore. Adult R&B “Magic 95.9” WWIN-FM rises 9.4 to 10.0. Hip Hop “92Q” WERQ is up 5.7 to 6.3. iHeartMedia Country 93.1 WPOC follows in third 5.4 to 5.9, and co-owned Variety Hits “102.7 Jack-FM” WQSR is up 5.0 to 5.7. Hearst’s “98 Rock” WIYY places fifth 4.9 to 5.1.
Trending upwards is iHeartMedia CHR “Z104.3” WZFT 3.0 – 3.5 – 3.9.
Hubbard dominates St. Louis. Classic Rock 94.7 KSHE is in its normal place atop the market with a 12.4 to 12.8 gain. Alternative “105.7 The Point” KPNT has settled into second holding steady at 8.3. Now Variety Hits “106.5 The Arch” WARH rises 7.5 to 8.0 to place third with what Chris Huff notes is its largest share since November 2009. iHeartMedia Classic Hits 103.3 KLOU slips 7.7 to 7.0, while Audacy AC 102.5 KEZK places fifth 6.7 to 6.5.
