Brewer Media has made the first step in the three signal format shuffle triggered by the pending sale of 105.1 WALV-FM Lakesite to American Family Association.
As we first teased in our 4/16 Domain Insight, Soft AC “Easy 106.9” W295BI Chattanooga/WPLZ-HD2 gave way last night to a simulcast of Classic Hits “Big 95.3” WPLZ Ooltewah as the station prepares to make a permanent move to the translator signal. That will then allow Sports “ESPN Chattanooga” WALV-FM to eventually shift to the 95.3 signal when the sale of WALV-FM closes.
The “Big” brand originally debuted on 106.9 in March 2015 before moving to 95.3 three months later.
Brewer sold WALV-FM to American Family Association in April for $610,000.
