Station Sales Week Of 12/24

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
December 23, 2021

Ke Buena 97.5 KBNA-FM El PasoMexico’s Grupo Radio Centro is divesting its final assets in the United States as its 97.5 Licensee TX sells Spanish Oldies 750 KAMA, Sports “Lonestar Sports 920” KQBU, and Regional Mexican “Ke Buena 97.5” KBNA-FM El Paso TX to Luz Maria Rygaard for $10,000. 97.5 Licensee was 75% owned by GRC member Rafael Marquez Aguirre and the then-limited 25% by the parent company itself. Grupo Radio Centro operated the three stations in a cluster with CHR “104.3 Hit-FM” XHTO Ciudad Juarez MX. They had purchased the trio in 2016 from Univision for $2 million.

After fourteen years iHeartMedia’s Aloha Station Trust is no more. Created by the 2007 privatization of then-Clear Channel to divest stations they lost their grandfathered status to maintain, the trust originally held 54 licenses that were all either spun-off or brought back into iHeartMedia’s holdings once market caps were adjusted. Now a new operator has been found the final station remaining in the trust as 1230 WIRO Ironton OH has been donated to KW Ministries. WIRO currently simulcasts “Fox Sports 1420” WZWB Kenovo/Huntington WV.

Roaring Fork Broadcasting Company purchases CHR “Hot 100.5” KGHT El Jebel/99.5 K258CO Snowmass Village, “Thunder 93.5” KTND Aspen/100.1 K261EG Aspen and “Cat Country 93.1” K226BU Aspen/K226CD Glenwood Springs CO from BS&T Wireless for $175,000. The buyers own Aspen based marketing agency Remix Media Group.

Augusta Radio Fellowship acquires Country/Classic Rock “Thunder 104.3” WZTR Dahlonega GA from Grady Turner for $800,000. Augusta Radio Fellowship operates the regional “GNN Radio” Christian network in Alabama, Georgia, and the Carolinas.

Word Radio Educational Foundation sells 91.1 WMTP Conway NH to New Hampshire Gospel Radio for $25,000. WMTP will join the buyer’s network that includes 91.1 WVNH Concord, 88.3 WANH Meredith and four translators in the state.

Voice Ministries of Farmington donates Christian “Passion Radio” 95.7 KPCL Farmington NM, 107.1 KLJH Bayfield/Durango CO and translators 103.9 K280FL Aztec NM and 107.9 K300BN Manco CO to Native American Christian Voice. The recipient currently owns “The Word” 91.7 KTGW Fruitland/Farmington and ten translators.

Translator Sales

Educational Media Foundation sells 102.9 K275CU Monterey CA to Rob Jamrog and Patricia Anderson-Kimble’s Fusion Radio LLC for $75,000. The filing lists Prunedale Educational Association’s 97.9 KARW Salinas as the originating station.

The Power Foundation sells 99.3 W257EN Cordele GA to Hammett Financial Management Corporation for $15,000. The translator already rebroadcasts they buyer’s Classic Country/Classic Rock 1550 WKTF Vienna GA.
