107.7 The End Resurrects Locals Only; Adds Ian Camfield For Afternoons

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
April 14, 2023

107.7 The End KNDD SeattleAudacy Alternative “107.7 The End” KNDD Seattle has announced the return of “Locals Only” hosted by Steven Graham on Sundays from 7-9pm.

Graham hosted the show from 2015 to 2020 before it was dropped during the company’s format restructuring. He also books local club shows, music festivals and writes about local music for multiple outlets in the Seattle area.

KNDD has also added Ian Camfield to track afternoons on KNDD official. The shift had been held remotely by Brady until his departure from the company last month. Camfield is also heard on Audacy’s Alternative stations in Dallas, Detroit, and San Diego and Classic Rock “99.5 The Mountain” KQMT Denver.

Audacy announces a series of programming updates for 107.7 The End (KNDD-FM) in Seattle.

Beginning April 16, “Locals Only” returns with host Steven Graham. The End’s long-time two-hour show devoted to music originating in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest will air Sundays from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. PT. The station will celebrate the show’s return with a “Seattle Sounds” weekend featuring artists who have broken out of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, from Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice In Chains to Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, The Head and the Heart, Brandi Carlile, Syml, Sunny Day Real Estate and many more.

The station subsequently announces Ian Camfield as afternoon host. Camfield will be heard on weekdays from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. PT.

“We’re thrilled to bring Steven and a station staple back into our programming slate and once again spotlight the music originating from this corner of the country,” said Jack Hutchison, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Seattle. “We’re equally excited to welcome Ian and his program into the weekday mix and add his love for music into our lineup.”

“After two and a half years of the show being off the air, I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to rejoin the team at The End and be a part of this important platform for local artists coming back to life,” said Graham. “As a kid who grew up listening to The End and loving Seattle music, hosting ‘Locals Only’ was a dream come true. Being trusted with the show again is an honor and I can’t wait to get started.”

For over a decade, Graham has been organizing local club shows, booking music festivals and writing about local music for different outlets in the greater Seattle area. He also spent five years as the most recent host of “Locals Only” on 107.7 The End.

“I have been a fan of The End since I used to stream it in the UK and steal their ideas for my London radio station,” said Camfield. “It is great to now be part of the team for this iconic alternative brand.”

Camfield broke into the industry at 16, hosting overnights on London station Country 1035. He then moved on to Heart 106.2, London’s premier Female AC station, where he stayed for a year – learning radio craft by introducing Celine Dion songs. His big break came at Xfm, the UK’s first alternative station, where he broke music from some of the biggest UK exports, including Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys and Muse. Camfield also hosted shows for VH-1 and MTV2, made various appearances on music documentaries and a multitude of voiceovers, as well as hosting The Download Festival at Donnington, The Wireless Festival in Hyde Park, the Sonisphere Festival in Knebworth, and The Metal Hammer Awards. Camfield moved to New York to do afternoons on K-Rock, then to Phoenix in 2016 to work for KUPD-FM and KDKB-FM, where his show won “Best Morning Show” 2019 from Phoenix Magazine and hosted “Ian Camfield’s Morning After” podcast, which gained more than 150,000 subscribers. In 2020, Camfield headed to Dallas Fort Worth to join Audacy’s ALT 103.7 (KVIL-FM), as well as contribute content to sister stations KRLD News Radio 1080 (KRLD-AM) and 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM). During his time in DFW, he has taken ALT 103.7 from ranking outside the top twenty stations in the market to being top 6 in all key demos. Camfield’s No. 2 rank in the 18-34 demo marks the best ratings in the station’s history. Camfield is also heard on Audacy stations in Denver, Detroit and San Diego.
