After stunting with a wheel of formats since New Years Day, Seven Mountains Media officially launched Classic Hits “99.7 WiLBuR Radio” on 1270 WLBR Lebanon PA.
The format resurrects the branding utilized by the station from April 2020 until flipping to Talk in March 2021. The new launch comes with the launch of an FM signal with the move of Major Keystone’s 99.3 W257DI Reading to Lebanon as 99.7 W259DM.
Laura LeBeau remains from the previous Talk format to continue hosting mornings. The first songs heard on the new “Wilbur” were Starship “We Built This City”, Fleetwood Mac “Dreams”, and Big Mountain “Baby, I Love Your Way”.
Original Report 1/1: Seven Mountains Media’s 1270 WLBR Lebanon PA is stunting with a wheel of formats as it prepares to launch a new format and FM simulcast.
Among the brandings heard during the stunt have been “Easy 1270”, “Disco 1270”, “Hippie 1270”, “1270 The King”, and “1270 The Alternative”.
It is expected that the station will eventually launch a new identity as Classic Hits “Wilbur 99.7” resurrecting the format heard on WLBR from April 2020 to March 2021. The 99.7 signal is the former 99.3 W257DI Reading, which has completed its move to Lebanon on the 99.7 frequency from the tower of Temple University’s 90.7 WRTL Ephrata.
Original Report 12/5: Seven Mountains Media’s market revamps have reached Lebanon PA.
News/Talk 1270 WLBR moved to Christmas Music on November 30 ahead of a post-Christmas format change. Laura LeBeau remains in mornings from the previous format. The move continues the company’s trend of removing spoken word formats from each of its markets as WLBR was the last of the Talk stations that Seven Mountains acquired from Forever Media last year retaining its format.
At sister Country “Froggy Valley 100.1” WFVY, the station has completed a lineup revamp as it removes all dayparts coming from Westwood One’s national feed. ‘Jumpin Jim’ McKay remains in mornings after moving to the daypart earlier this year following the retirement of former PD/morning host Steve ‘Frogman’ Todd in May. Chase Hopper remains in middays. Joining the cluster as OM/PD and afternoon host in Artie Shultz. Shultz joins Seven Mountains Lebanon after an over two decade run as PD/afternoon host at Alpha Media Hot AC “Mix 95.1” WIKZ Chambersburg PA until exiting over the summer. WFVY adds Compass Media’s “Taste of Country Nights” hosted by Evan Paul for nights.
