The names of people affected by the ongoing Cumulus Media layoffs continues to slowly trickle out.

There are couple reasons why the names are coming out slower than when other companies make large scale layoffs. We’re told that there is a backlog in exit paperwork being completed, which is preventing some of those affected from sharing their status. Additionally, in some markets there is nobody who knows how to update the station websites to remove departed staffers.

Aaron ‘Goose’ Seller exits as PD/morning host at “W4 Country” WWWW-FM Ann Arbor MI. Seller joined W4 in July 2023 after co-hosting mornings at sister “New Country 93.1” WDRQ Detroit from April 2022 until the station’s sale to Family Life Broadcasting System. Seller has previously served as OM for Adams Radio Salisbury/Ocean City MD and Sound Management South Bend IN. The Detroit native spent the majority of his career in Colorado with stints in mornings at Cumulus CHR “98.9 Magic-FM” KKMG and a decade at AC “92.9 Peak-FM” KKPK where he also served as Director of Marketing. Justin Bryant departs as PD/afternoon host at AC “Classy 100” WXKC Erie PA. Bryant joined WXKC in July 2022 after previously spending eight years at the company’s Macon GA cluster as PD of CHR “B95.1” WMGB and Hip Hop “Macon’s 92.3” WLZN from 2013 until early 2022. He also has programmed WVBX/WWUZ Fredericksburg VA, WBHT Scranton PA, and WWYL Binghamton NY (as ‘KJ Bryant’) after starting his career with nine years at WPXY Rochester NY as ‘Norm on the Barstool’ rising to APD/MD/night host.

Brittany Dickson departs her dual role as morning co-host at “Classy 100” WXKC and midday host as ‘Britt Rose’ on Country 97.9 WXTA Erie PA. Butryn joined the stations in June 2023 after starting her career at Rock 100.5 KATT Oklahoma City and later hosting afternoons at Classic Hits “100.7 The Jet” WJTQ Pensacola FL from 2017-19. She also wrote the book “20 Things to Know About Being a Radio Personality” in 2021. Brenda Savelli remains in mornings solo on WXKC.

Bret Gogoel departs as a news anchor at 890 WLS Chicago. Gogoel joined WLS in 2017 as a producer and later anchored the afternoon “The Closing Bell” and “PM Chicago” from October 2023 until their cancellation in June.

Danielle Norwood exits mornings at AC “Majic 107.7” KMAJ-FM Topeka KS. Norwood joined KMAJ-FM in February 2022 and had previously been paired with Shawn Knight. She previously hosted a local talk show at Alpha Media News/Talk 580 WIBW, hosts a daily program for local PBS affiliate KWTU-TV, and previously spent a ten years each at Eagle Communications Salina KS as Business Manager and on-air host and at Salina Media Group as Traffic Director.

Brad Schmidt exits afternoons at Conservative Talk “Newsradio 102.9” KARN-FM Little Rock AR. Schmidt joined KARN-FM in January 2022 after spending nearly eight years hosting afternoons at KNOX Grand Forks ND.

Nicole Giordano Ashjian exits as host of “After Hours” at CHR “Y101” KWYE Fresno CA. She was on her second stint in nights at the station returning in 2020 after previously hosting nights at One Putt Broadcasting’s “99.3 Now-FM” KJZN from 2017-20.

John Byrd departs as Executive Producer at Conservative Talk “Talk 99.5” WZRR Birmingham. Byrd has been with WZRR since 2018 after previously programming Crawford Broadcasting’s WYDE and WYDE-FM and serving as Creative Services Director of Clear Channel Birmingham.

Mark McKenzie has exited from his multiple roles in York PA including morning news anchor/producer at News/Talk 910 WSBA, morning news anchor for AC “Warm 103.3” WARM-FM, and midday host at Classic Hits 96.1 WSOX. McKenzie joined the cluster in 1990 after a decade at “FM 97” WLAN-FM Lancaster.

Ashley Benson departs as morning co-host at CHR 95.1 KHOP Modesto CA after two and half years in the daypart. Benson joined the station in 2010 and spent time in overnights, middays, and as social media director at the station during her tenure. Co-host Ian Riley wrote a long tribute to Benson on Facebook.
