Leslie Fram has announced the launch of consulting collective FEMco (Fram Entertainment & Music) offering services in Artist Development, Talent Booking & Production, and B2B Connection to Nashville’s entertainment community.
Fram exited her primary position as Senior Vice President of Music Strategy at Paramount Global’s CMT after thirteen years last October as part of a round of layoffs. Fram held her role at CMT, where she was recruited by then CMT President and current Cumulus Chief Content Officer Brian Phillips, since 2011. After beginning her career at WABB Mobile AL, Fram joined WNNX Atlanta predecessor “Power 99” WAPW as APD/morning co-host in 1990 and rose to Program Director in 1997, and was part of every incarnation of the station’s morning show from the “99X” brand’s original launch in October 1992 until its demise in January 2008. She would then serve as PD of Emmis AAA 101.9 WRXP New York before joining CMT. She joined the reconstituted “99X” alongside her former co-host Steve Barnes in February 2023 and will continue in that role as well.
The new company will focus on strategic career development for emerging and established artists, talent booking and producing, and connecting businesses and brands to Nashville’s entertainment community.
FEMco is also launching a music-focused production division FEMco Presents to continue creating programs like CMT’s Next Women of Country. FEMcountry launched last month at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Georgia and at last week’s Live In The Vineyard Goes Country in Napa, with other activations to be announced. FEMco Presents will soon expand to other genres to include FEMpop and FEMrock.
Fram commented, “I’ve always wanted to start my own company, one that was intentionally designed as a purpose-driven business that aligns with my personal and professional aspirations. Through my time in radio and television I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge, skills and insights from various roles, industries and projects that are not just a collection of past events but a foundation for this very kind of endeavor. FEMco will allow me to focus on the parts of the business that have always brought me the most joy – advising and mentoring artists both male and female, booking and producing talent for a variety of entertainment platforms, creating connections between businesses and creatives, and championing women and underrepresented groups in country music. FEMco is the culmination of everything I’ve learned throughout my career and I’m honored and grateful to be able to give back and support a community that has given so much to me.”
