H Hawaii Media has launched Spanish CHR “Mega 104.7” K284AL Honolulu HI.
Fed by SummitMedia’s 100.3 KCCN-HD2, the signals had been operating as Filipino “Pinoy Power Radio“. Now its becomes the only Spanish language signal in the market with core artists including Bad Bunny, Karol G, Manuel Turizo, Anitta, and Pedro Capó. The station will also feature Entravision’s “The Shoboy Show” in mornings.
Owner/President George Hochman said, “Latinos make up more than 11% of Honolulu’s DMA, and there’s never been a commercial station that speaks to them—until now. Mega 104.7 is here to serve and celebrate that community.”
Positioning as “Más Música. Más Comunidad. Más Hawaii,” the station will also provide news, weather, surf reports, and community updates.
Benjamin Reed’s Chupacabras Creative Services is providing programming and strategic services for the station. Reed also oversees Spanish brands in Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
