As part of a legal settlement with First State Bank of the Southeast, Jonathan Smith’s Choice Radio Corporation will sell “Mix 96.1” WKKQ North Corbin, Country “K105.7” WTBK Manchester, and 950 WYWY/93.3 W227CD Barbourville KY to Karen Moses’ Southern Roots Broadcasting LLC for $75,000. Moses’ Strategic Impact Marketing has operated the stations via Time Brokerage Agreement since 2019. In 2021, the bank won a court order to sell the stations to Roy Jaynes Broadcasting for $100,000, which was dismissed in 2023. The deal will also see Choice surrender the licenses of 1450 WWXL Manchester and 104.5 W283AI Mount Vernon KY for being financially unviable.
Delta Media Corporation acquires Full Service Oldies 1240 KANE/107.5 K298CQ New Iberia LA from Coastal Broadcasting of LaFourche for $122,000.
Concurrently, Delta Media Corporation donates 1230 KSLO Opelousas/99.5 K258DQ Lafayette to Power of Grace LLC for no consideration. The acquirer is led by Ann Maria Mouton, the mother of Delta Media owner Ryan Mouton. KSLO/K258DQ and 90.5 KLFT Kaplan LA operate as Christian “Christ Our King Radio“.
Translator Sales
Kent Frandsen’s Canyon Media Group will purchase a pair of translators in Cedar City UT. Canyon will pay $75,000 to Jeffery Jennings for 92.5 K223CN and $75,000 to Southwest Media Advertising for 100.7 K264DD. Both translators will rebroadcast subchannels of the company’s 99.5 KUNY Paragonah.
K-Love Inc. will swap 101.9 K270AI Cathedral City CA to Advance Ministries for 107.7 K299BI Cathedral City. In exchange, modification applications to change the antenna patterns on Adavnce’s 91.3 KWTH Barstow and 97.1 K246CL Apple Valley will be made to allow K-Love to upgrade and relocate 91.1 KKLP Perris to the site of 90.1 KLRD Yucaipa. In addition, K-Love will grant Advance Ministries programming rights to a subchannel on 92.7 KYZA Adelanto and 105.1 KLXB Bermuda Dunes.
