More Names Affected By Last Week’s iHeartMedia Layoffs

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
October 15, 2025

iHeartMediaUpdated 10/15: Following last week’s iHeartMedia layoffs, names continue to trickle out of those affected. Among the more recent names to come public are:

Boston

Winnie Akoury exits as producer/co-host of “Billy & Lisa In The Morning” at CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM. Akoury has been part of the station’s morning shows since 2018 after starting as an intern and promotions assistant. Billy Costa, Lisa Donovan, and Justin Aguirre will continue in mornings.

DJ4eign departs as part of “Ashlee and the JAM’N Morning Show” on Rhythmic CHR “Jam’n 94.5” WJMN. He has been part of the morning show since it debuted in 2019 along with Ashlee Feldman, Santi Deoleo, and Program Director/mixer DJ Pup Dawg. He also serves as a mixer at the station.

Charlotte

The “Miguel & Holly” morning show is out at CHR “Hits 96.1” WHQC. Miguel Fuller and Holly O’Connor joined the station in February 2022 after seven years in mornings at Cox CHR “Hot 101.5” WPOI Tampa. They also have worked in mornings at Hot AC “Play 98.7” WSJT Tampa and CHR “Island 106” WILN Panama City. Producer ‘Kelbin Live’ Ramirez joined the duo in July 2022 after previously working at Cox Rhythmic AC “Hits 97.3” WFLC Miami. Sister Classic Rock “99.7 The Fox” WRFX Program Director E. White is currently hosting mornings.

Fort Myers

Brittany Gonzalez has departed as morning co-host at Rhythmic CHR “105.5 The Beat” WBTT. Gonzalez joined the station in 2016 spending time in middays and co-hosting “The Morning Freakshow” with Flyin’ Brian.

Denver

Jerry Schemmel has again exited as play-by-play voice of MLB’s Colorado Rockies on News/Talk 850/94.1 KOA. Schemmel served as play-by-play voice from 2010 to 2019 before being let go in iHeart’s January 2020 layoffs before being brought back ahead of the 2022 season. In between, he served as an NBA and MLB analyst for Bonneville Sports “104.3 The Fan” KKFN-FM. He also has spent 18 years on the broadcast team for the NBA’s Denver Nuggets.

San Francisco

Dreena Gonzalez departs as midday host at CHR “Wild 94.9” KYLD after a sixteen year run. Gonzalez had a previous stint at the station rising from intern to middays before spending four years in afternoons at “KS 107.5” KQKS Denver from 2005-09. She also tracked for many CHRs and Rhythmic CHRs across the company. Gonzalez wrote, “Well, after an incredible run in radio, it’s time to say goodbye to the airwaves. Earlier this week, I was one of the many people let go from iHeartRadio – but honestly, it’s all LOVE! Radio has changed so much over the years, and while I’ll never take my time in the industry for granted, it’s just not the same as it once was. Somewhere along the way, I fell out of love with it, and that’s okay. So please don’t be sad for me. I’m in a really good space and genuinely excited for what’s next. If you told 19-year-old me – the girl interning at Wild 94.9, the station she grew up listening to in the Bay Area, that I’d get to be part of its history for this long, I never would’ve believed you. I also got to experience radio in Denver and track into more markets than I can even count. I did it. I conquered it. And I’ll always be proud of that. Nothing can take that away from me.”

Update 10/9: Sources indicate that the cuts began today and will be spread over the next couple of days. This may end up being the largest round of layoffs performed by the company this year affecting publicly facing positions at the company as the few rounds of cuts made this year have only affected some markets or were one-offs.

This report will be updated as names become known and more information becomes available.

As of this writing there are still some significant names that have exited but not yet gone public. As a principle, we do not report on a person’s firing until the person goes public or it has been reported elsewhere.

If you have been affected and wish to share your contact informations please reach out to news@radioinsight.com.

You see the stories about people getting let go — this time, it’s me. Emotions? I’ve got all of them. I don’t know what’s next, and that’s okay. It’s been an honor (and a blast) getting paid to be an idiot, good vibe spreader, serotonin chaser, awkwardness bringer, and hookup guy on the station I grew up listening to.
