Shaw Local Radio is purchasing Staradio’s three stations in Kankakee IL for $725,000.
Included in the deal are Sports “105.5 The Ticket” WYKT Wilmington, “X Country 106.5” WXNU St. Anne, and News/Talk 1320 WKAN/101.3 W267CI Kankakee.
Shaw, which owns 80 newspapers across northern Illinois and Iowa, entered radio ownership in 2023 with the purchase of Studstill Media’s stations in the LaSalle/Peru IL market for $1.8 million and then acquired NRG Media’s three stations in Dixon IL for $950,000 in 2024.
Staradio Corp. retains its five stations in Quincy IL/Hannibal MO and six in Great Falls MT.
