After agreeing to acquire Impact Radio’s “Eagle Country 97.5” WTNN Bristol/Burlington VT from John Fuller’s Impact Radio earlier this month, Great Eastern Radio has added the signal to its simulcast of Country “Froggy 104.3/100.9” WJKS Keeseville NY/WWFY Berlin VT.
The move helps fill coverage holes for the brand in Burlington proper and areas to the north. It also leaves the market with two Country brands after recently having four. Vox AM/FM flipped “101.3 The Wolf” WCPV Essex NY to a simulcast of News/Talk 620 WVMT Burlington VT last month leaving just “Froggy” and Hall’s 98.9 WOKO. None of the Country operators subscribe to Nielsen, while in the February Eastlan Ratings, WOKO led the market with a 15.7 share followed by WTNN at a 4.4 share and WJKS at a 2.9.
