K-Love Inc. is entering the largest market it had yet to find an outlet as it will purchase Classic Rock “100.7 The Bay” WZBA Westminster/Baltimore MD and translators 100.1 W261CD Baltimore and 107.5 W298CG Bel Air from Shamrock Communications.
K-Love will pay $2.7 million for the properties. Kalil & Co. served as broker for the deal.
WZBA staffers were informed of the acquisition on Thursday. Rumors of the acquisition have persisted for quite some time especially after the Shamrock co-owned Milwaukee Radio Alliance sold the majority of its Milwaukee cluster to K-Love Inc. last summer. Following this deal, Shamrock will only retain its cluster in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre PA and potential Las Vegas move-in 106.1 KRZQ Amargosa Valley NV.
The upcoming demise of the 26 year-old Bay brand will leave Baltimore with no dedicated Classic Rock station. Hearst’s “98 Rock” WIYY and iHeartMedia’s Variety Hits “102.7 Jack-FM” WQSR will be the two largest beneficiaries of the change. WZBA had a 2.1 share in the April 2026 Nielsen Audio ratings.
The introduction of “K-Love” into Baltimore will create a competitor to Brighter Media Group Christian AC “95.1 Bright-FM” WRBS-FM Baltimore. WRBS-FM was fourth in the market with a 5.4 share in April.
107.3 WLVW Washington DC has been K-Love’s closest station to Baltimore covering the southern parts of the market. With the purchase, St. Louis and Orlando become the only top 30 markets without the presence of their Christian AC “K-Love” brand.
