RadioInsight Exclusive: As part of a move of several stations from station specific playlists to the company’s national “custom” music logs, iHeartMedia shifted 90s/2000s Hits “Kiss 107.9” KZIS Sacramento to Hot AC earlier this month.
KZIS is now utilizing the “Today’s Mix” log used on stations including “Now 105.1” KCYZ Des Moines. Positioning as “90s To Now”, the move came with a refreshed on-air lineup as the station adds the KBIG Los Angeles based “Valentine in the Morning” replacing KBOS Fresno’s CK. KMYI San Diego’s Delana Bennett succeeds WKTU New York’s Wendy Wild in middays. Local host Strawberry remains in afternoons. WNCI Columbus’ Chris Davis is added at night, while Natalia Perez shifts from nights to overnights.
KZIS had risen 2.9 – 3.6- 4.0 in the past three Nielsen Audio monthlies prior to the switch. The shift there followed sister “93.7 The River” KYRV’s move from Classic Rock to Classic Hits.
Among other iHeart stations that transitioned to various national music logs at the start of June were CHR’s “Power 105.3” WWPW Atlanta, “Z107.7” KSLZ St. Louis, and “96.5 Kiss-FM” WAKS Cleveland and Country stations “Big 104.7” WPGB Pittsburgh and “B93.9” WNCB Raleigh.
