102.7 KIIS-FM Los Angeles latenight host Kayla Thomas is moving to sister “Z100” WHTZ New York to host nights from 6-10pm starting Monday, July 27.
Thomas joined KIIS-FM in February 2022 and was also heard on multiple stations across the country. Prior to KIIS-FM, Thomas hosted middays at Mel Wheeler Inc. CHR “K92” WXLK Roanoke VA and the nights at Townsquare Media’s 94.5 WPST Trenton NJ and the syndicated “Pop Crush Nights“.
She commented, “I’m thrilled to join Z100 as the new night personality. Being on Z100 has been a dream of mine since I started on the radio. I’m incredibly grateful to Thea Mitchem and Mark Adams for believing in me and this opportunity. As someone who grew up on the East Coast, coming home makes this moment even more special, and I can’t wait to connect with listeners every night and be part of what makes Z100 so iconic.”
iHeart VP/CHR Programming and WHTZ Program Director Mark Adams said, “Kayla is an extraordinarily talented personality both behind the mic and on camera, curates a dynamic social media presence, and possesses boundless enthusiasm and passion. I’m excited to have her join our team at iHeartMedia New York, and know she’ll be a fantastic addition to Z100”.
Thomas fills the timeslot that had been held by Josh Martinez since May 2021. A Brooklyn native, Martinez joined WHTZ in May 2021 after four years as APD/MD and later PD of “Kiss 107.1” WKFS Cincinnati. Martinez also programmed “Hot 95.7” KOSY Cedar Rapids and worked on-air in Des Moines since starting his career in New York at WKTU. He also hosted nights at “103.5 Kiss-FM” WKSC Chicago.
