Ahead of the sale of CHR “Kiss 95.1” WNKS, Beasley Media Group Charlotte VP/Market Manager Mac Edwards will step down on September 4 after 35 years with the company.
Edwards began his radio career in Austin TX before joining Beasley in 1991 as Program Director of Country 95.7 WKML Fayetteville NC. He would move into management in 1996 as General Manager of WFLB and WAZZ Fayetteville. He would then rise to VP/Operations and then VP/Market Manager in 2007. Edwards then moved to Detroit to run Beasley’s cluster there in 2016 before relocating to Charlotte in 2022.
Edwards said, “Beasley Media Group has been such an important part of my life and career journey. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some incredibly talented people, serving amazing communities, and helping grow iconic radio brands across the country. I’m thankful to the Beasley family, especially Brian Beasley, for bringing me to the company, our leadership team, our colleagues, and our partners for the opportunities, friendships, and memories over the past three decades. While this departure is bittersweet, I’m looking forward to taking a moment to relax and spend time with my two very active grandsons, with a granddaughter on the way, before embracing new adventures ahead. I am deeply grateful to my amazing wife Angela and our three wonderful daughters for their constant encouragement, unwavering belief, and the strength they’ve provided throughout this amazing ride. Their support has meant everything to me.”
Beasley COO Brian Beasley followed, “Thirty-five years ago, I had the privilege of recruiting Mac Edwards to join Beasley Media Group, and it remains one of the best decisions we’ve ever made Throughout his remarkable career, Mac has been an outstanding leader, trusted colleague and tremendous ambassador for our company. His passion for radio, commitment to excellence, and dedication to our teams and the communities we serve have made a lasting impact across every market he has led. We are incredibly grateful for Mac’s many contributions and wish him continued happiness and success in this well-deserved next chapter.”
