The calendar may read August 25, but Mount Wilson FM Broadcasters has gotten into the holiday spirit in Southern California.
After averting plans to launch Classic Country on 105.1 KKGO-HD3 Los Angeles, the station flipped to all-Christmas music on Friday, August 21 as “America’s Christmas Station“.
Owner Saul Levine told RadioInsight that the subchannel will run Christmas music until the start of 2027. Until beginning to stunt this spring, it most recently operated as Classical “K-Mozart+“. After months of looping Gene Autry’s “Back In The Saddle” until the averted Classic Country launch gave way to a few weeks of Keith Urban’s recent Yacht Rock covers album and then Oldies songs about California.
INSTANT INSIGHT:While on HD, we will not be counting KKGO-HD3 as the first all-Christmas flip for the holiday season as that will be reserved for a station on a primary signal.
