Two years after moving to middays on an interim basis following the departure of Corey Dillon, Radio One Country “93Q” KKBQ-FM Pasadena/Houston has officially handed the daypart to Mason Pradt.
Pradt joined the cluster in 2014 as a promotions assistant and moved on-air in 2019 as midday host at the former “Country Legends 97.1” KTHT and nights at KKBQ. He began hosting middays in October 2024 and also serves as producer of the station’s morning show.
He commented, “Growing up in Houston, 93Q was always one of those stations I had on the radio, so getting the opportunity to be part of it in this way is pretty surreal. I started here as a promotions assistant back in 2014, and to now have the chance to be on the air every day at a station that’s meant so much to me and to this city is incredibly special. I’m so grateful to work alongside this hardworking and talented air staff that gives so much to this station and the Houston community, and makes coming to work every day something to look forward to. A big thank you to Travis Moon, Doug Abernathy, and everyone at Radio One for believing in me and giving me this amazing opportunity!”
Program Director Travis Moon said, “Mason is a Houstonian through and through, and you can hear it every time he’s on the air. He talks to listeners like a neighbor, because he is one. We’re really proud of him and excited to hear middays on 93Q shine even brighter.”
