Clear Channel is dropping the Spanish CHR format of “Rumba 1480” WUBA Philadelphia and resurrecting the heritage WDAS calls with an Urban Oldies format.

WUBA is already redirecting its listeners to Aztec Capital Partner’s “El Zol 1340” WHAT. The new format will debut on Wednesday, November 23 with R&B Christmas music through the holidays before shifting to R&B hits of the 50’s through 70’s.

This marks the end of a chapter involving “Rumba”, which launched on 104.5 amidst much fanfare in August 2006. By May 2007, the format was moved to 1480 as 104.5 flipped to Alternative Rock as “Radio 104.5“.
