Bob Rivers has announced he will retire from the morning show at Clear Channel Classic Hits 95.7 KJR-FM Seattle on Friday, August 8.
The date will coincide with the 25th anniversary of Rivers debuting in Seattle on 99.9 KISW after a previous run in mornings at “98 Rock” WIYY Baltimore. Rivers remained at KISW until 2001 when it moved to CBS Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK before moving to KJR-FM in April 2011.
Rivers states he continue to produce his “Twisted Tunes” parody songs and potentially launch a podcast.
Clear Channel has registered a number of domains hinting at a format change at KJR-FM following Rivers’ retirement.
