The FCC has denied Hope Christian Church of Marlton’s attempt to move 105.7 W289AZ Trenton, NJ to the tower site of Davidson Media’s “Mega 1310” WEMG Camden, NJ/Philadelphia, which would’ve become the originating station for the translator.

The move would’ve required W289AZ to move approximately 25km to a location with zero overlap with the currently approved signal contours for the translator utilizing the “Mattoon Waiver”. The FCC ruled that because a previous application by Hope to modify the translator was to enable it to qualify for the waiver by making it mutually exclusive to the final move to Camden. “Therefore, the evident purpose of the April Modification was to manipulate the
Commission’s modification and waiver policies in an effort to achieve an otherwise prohibited result. Hope does not provide any information to the contrary, nor does it provide any information regarding the lack or unavailability of existing translators in the proposed area that might support the public interest in a
long-distance move. For these reasons, we deny Hope’s waiver request and dismiss the Application.”
