Starboard Media Foundation will bring its Catholic “Relevant Radio” network to Philadelphia with the purchase of 640 WWJZ Mount Holly, NJ from Radio Disney.
Starboard is paying $3.5 million for WWJZ, which is licensed with 50kW daytime and 950 watts at night. The Green Bay, WI based Starboard owns 15 other stations across the country including Austin, Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, and Providence.
Once this and the previously announced divestments close, Disney will still have six stations remaining to sell as part of its plan to sell off all of its Radio Disney affiliates outside of 1110 KDIS Los Angeles. The remaining stations are 1260 WSDZ Belleville IL/St. Louis, 1380 WWMI St. Petersburg FL, 1440 KDIZ Golden Valley/Minneapolis, 1580 KMIK Tempe/Phoenix, 1640 KDZR Lake Oswego/Portland and 1690 KDDZ Arvada/Denver.
