Tyler Media Sports “107.7 The Franchise” KRXO Oklahoma City quietly began simulcasting in Tulsa last week.
1270 KTUZ Claremore moved its Regional Mexican “La Z” format to 1570 KZLI Catoosa/101.9 K270BK Tulsa after a few weeks of simulcasting. Tyler Media owns a translator CP for 107.9 K300CY Broken Arrow that will eventually rebroadcast 1270.
The one thing that cannot be simulcast in both markets is Oklahoma University Football that originates on KRXO. iHeartMedia’s Sports “1430 The Buzz” KTBZ and Rock 97.5 KMOD own the Tulsa rights.
Tyler Media switches formats on it’s translators often.. This translator will help 107.7 The Franchise (KRXO Oklahoma City) compete with 98.1 WWLS (Oklahoma City) which has affiliates and coverage all over the state of Oklahoma. BTW you don’t want to get in between an Oklahoman and their Sooners.
Does KRXO-107.7 own the radio rights to the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder??
If they do, they’ll now have a co-owned affiliate in Tulsa to carry the games, insuring that the team’s radio network is in the state’s two largest cities.
No. WWLS-FM 98.1 owns the Thunder radio rights. The games are heard in Tulsa on KAKC 1300.
