Shamrock Communications Classic Rock 105.3 KZTI Fallon Station/Reno, NV has been stripped of its “105.3 Z-Rock” moniker in favor of “105.3 Rock Hard“.
The “Z-Rock” trademark is still owned by Cumulus Media from their acquisition of ABC Radio Networks and predecessor Satellite Music Network who operated the “Z-Rock” network from 1986 until 1996. Cumulus keeps the trademark alive on “Z-Rock 103” WXZZ Lexington, KY.
Shamrock has registered 1053FMRockHard.com to be the eventual web presence for the station that flipped from Adult Standards on September 14.
Wow, There’s that. But, I initially thought it was because of 105.7 KOZZ in the market. I heard them today calling 3 in a row “3 on the Z”.
That’s what I thought too. I also believe it was because of Cumulus having a Reno cluster, and their outlets doesn’t feature a Rocker in its lineup.
