Pamal AAA “104.9 The Peak” WZMR Altamont/Albany, NY will flip to Sports on Monday, January 12.
The Schenectady Daily-Gazette reports that the new station will utilize programming from the CBS Sports Radio network as it takes that affiliation from Empire Broadcasting’s 1240 WPTR Schenectady. The move will give Albany its fourth Sports station joining WPTR, which will shift to the NBC Sports network, iHeartMedia’s “Fox Sports 980” WOFX and Townsquare Media’s “ESPN 104.5 The Team” WTMM.
We can exclusively add that the new station will be branded as “Win 104.9” as Win1049Sports.com has been registered by Pamal and a call letter change to WINU has been filed with the FCC.
WZMR launched its AAA format in December 2013 following the move of its previous Country format to sister 100.9 WKLI.
