Delmarva Educational Association has shifted Oldies “102.3 The Beach” W272CQ Jacksonville FL/WSOL-HD2 to Classic Hits as “Sunny 102.3“. The change comes with a refocused emphasis on the 1970s and 80s. Dr. AJ Davis will host mornings while Tony Mann remains in place as Music Director/afternoon host.
atWith the move of Conservative Talk “The Answer” 600 WBOB Jacksonville’s translator to 101.1 W266CX, Chesapeake-Portsmouth Broadcasting has launched Business “100.3 The Biz” on 100.3 W262AG Jacksonville and Queen of Peace Radio’s 1600 WZNZ Atlantic Beach FL. The new format currently features Bloomberg programming with the exception of On Call w/ Asa Andrew from 9pm-1am weekdays. With the move of WBOB to 101.1, the station has also made a programming change as the station picks up Mike Gallagher for 9am-12pm and moves Laura Ingraham from that timeslot to 9pm-12am. WZNZ had been originating the programming for Chesapeake-Portsmouth Oldies “102.3 The Beach” W272CQ. That translator is now fed by iHeartMedia’s 101.5 WSOL-HD2 Brunswick GA.

Queen Of Peace Radio Oldies “1600 The Beach” WZNZ Atlantic Beach has added an FM signal on 102.3 as W271AP Jacksonville has completed its relocation from 102.1 and power increase to 99 watts at 270 meters (Coverage Map). WZNZ runs programming from WestwoodOne’s new Good Time Oldies network. Chesapeake-Portsmouth Broadcasting Conservative Talk 600 WBOB Jacksonville is now airing on 100.3 W262AG Orange Park. As the FCC prepares to clear out the frozen 2003 Translator applications and open up the LPFM filing window later this year, many existing translators are hurrying to get their upgrades into the system. The past two weeks have been filled with dozens of upgrades applications. Starting in New York where 106.3 W292DV is trying once again to get relocated into the city. After discarding its hopes to operate in the city last year following interference claims the translator was unable to build out its CP on the Queens/Nassau county border. The translator has now applied for an STA to return to Long Island City, Queens with 4 watts to keep the license alive. Apple Community Broadcasting is attempting to bring another translator closer to New York City. While its 106.3 W293BU remains in limbo, its 101.5 W268AN Plainview, NY has applied to move its tower about 12 miles west on the Long Island Expressway. From its new tower, just over the border separating Queens from Nassau County, the translator will operate with 10 watts. Another translator will attempt to move to Austin, TX. Big Bend Broadcasting has applied to move 105.5 K288FJ from Bastrop, TX to Austin where it will rebroadcast an HD subchannel of Border Media’s 92.5 KXXS with 99 watts. Big Bend Broadcasting acquired 105.5 last year in a swap with Emmis for 102.7 K274AX after Emmis was unable to move 105.5 into Austin.
