Alpha Media flipped Hot AC “102.3 The Max” WXMA Louisville KY to Variety Hits “102.3 Jack-FM” at noon today. No word yet on the status of the airstaff as the station is now running the nationally syndicated Jack-FM programming although Program Director Sarah Jordan remains in place. This returns the Variety Hits format to Louisville for the first time since iHeartMedia’s 100.5 WLUE dropped the format in 2009. WXMA registered a mere 1.6 share in the Spring 2017 Nielsen Audio ratings. Brooke & Jubal Come To Biloxi & Louisville

The rapid station growth for the syndicated Brooke & Jubal morning show continues with the addition of Alpha Media Classic Hip-Hop “G96.7” WGBL Gulfport/Biloxi and Hot AC “102.3 The Max” WXMA Louisville. The stations join Country 103.1 WIRK West Palm Beach and CHR “Energy 102.3” WNGY Peoria as recent Alpha Media station to pick up the show, showing the format flexibility the company believes in the show. Alpha and L&L To Merge; Acquire Main Line Broadcasting

Larry Wilson is merging his two operating companies into one and acquiring another. Alpha Broadcasting and L&L Broadcasting will merge to become Alpha Media, while purchasing Main Line Broadcasting’s 19 stations in four markets for $57 million. Both Alpha and L&L were founded by Larry Wilson sharing the same management teams with L&L already operating Alpha’s stations. Following the completion of the two transactions the company will operate 68 radio stations in 12 markets. L&L’s deal to acquire Main Line was first reported in February by Tom Taylor Now.
