People Moves 7/16: Shelly Dunn To Retire From DSC

While Dave Rickards and Cookie ‘Chainsaw’ Randolph are still negotiating their future, The S in the DSC Morning Show at TEGNA Rock “100.7 KFM-BFM” KFMB-FM San Diego is calling it a career. Shelly Dunn will exit the show on Friday, July 27 after 28 years with the show. Dunn began her career at KATT Oklahoma City and also worked in Dallas and Phoenix where she met Randolph and went with him to San Diego. She also voicetracks middays at Alpha Media Rock 93.7 KCLB Palm Springs. Mike Kruz is moving from middays at Cox Media Group CHR “Hits 97.3” WFLC Miami to afternoons at sister AC “Easy 93.1” WFEZ. Classic Hip-Hop Comes To Oklahoma City

Tyler Media brought the Classic Hip-Hop format to Oklahoma City this afternoon with the launch of “V103” 103.1 K276EX/92.5 KOMA-HD3. Launching a little after 4:00pm, the station becomes Tyler’s tenth audio brand in the market. Tod Tucker, PD of sister CHR “Now 92.9” K225BN/KOMA-HD2 adds similar duties at 103.1. The 99 watt translator most recently had been rebroadcasting News/Talk 1520 KOKC through its recent tower collapse, which apparently delayed the launch of the new format. New Wavo Communications has applied to increase “K-Star Country” 99.7 KVST Willis, TX from a Class A operating with 2.9kW at 147 meters to a C2 with 11kW at 147 meters. The upgraded signal would increase the station’s signal in the northern suburbs of Houston including Conroe and The Woodlands. A pair of translators in Oklahoma City are seeking to relocate to the tower of Tyler Media’s 107.7 KRXO. Fred & Evelyn Morton’s 92.9 K229BN, which currently rebroadcasts Tyler’s “Comedy 1560” KEBC seeks to increase from 75 to 200 watts, while The Love Station’s 103.1 K276EX will jump from 75 to 99 watts.
