iHeartMedia has announced that John Peake has been named Program Director for AC 103.5 KOST and Hot AC “104.3 My-FM” KBIG Los Angeles. Peake joins the stations from iHeart’s San Diego/Riverside region where he was Senior Vice President of Programming. He has also served as VP/Programming in Seattle and Show Director for the syndicated John Jay & Rich morning show during his time with the company. A year after being knocked off their perch by iHeartMedia CHR 102.7 KIIS-FM Los Angeles, Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP Washington DC has reclaimed the spot as the nation’s top billing radio station in BIA/Kelsey’s annual report. WTOP and its suburban simulcasters had its revenue rise from $63.5 million in 2014 to $65 million in 2015 to regain the lead, while continuing to be the only station outside of the top three markets to appear in the top 10 list. WTOP has now been the top billing station for five out of the past six years. For the past few months, actor/tv host Mario Lopez has been hosting nights on Clear Channel Hot AC “104.3 MY-FM” KBIG Los Angeles. The program will now go national as Clear Channel’s Premiere Media Networks launches “On With Mario Lopez” for daily syndication. The four hour long program will be offered to stations to air in afternoon drive or nights between 3pm and 12am. The program will originate from The Grove outdoor shopping mall in Los Angeles where Lopez hosts the syndicated “Extra“. In semi-related news, Khloe Kardashian has left her daily hour long show on Clear Channel’s “Mix 102.9” KDMX Dallas following her husband Lamar Odom’s departure from the Dallas Mavericks.
