Broadway Media CHR “Mix 107.9” KUDD Randolph/Salt Lake City UT will make its move to the stronger in-market 105.1 signal on Thursday, March 31. 105.1 has been running a temporary Dance format since Christmas as Broadway waited to complete the divestiture of 107.9 to Community Wireless so it could take 105.1 KAUU American Fork out of the divestiture trust that currently holds its license. The move of KUDD to 105.1 will place it on Farnsworth Peak where most of the in-city signals transmit from. When the KUDD call letters move to 105.1, 107.9 will become KUMT.
With the end of Christmas season, “105.1 The Gift” KAAU American Fork/Salt Lake City gave way to another placeholder format. Broadway began the process with the application to divest CHR “Mix 107.9” KUDD Randolph to Community Wireless. With KAUU now licensed to American Fork with full market coverage, Broadway has applied to take the station out of the SLC Divestiture Trust I, but cannot begin operating the station until the sale of KUDD closes. Original Report 10/27: As SLC Divestiture Trust I prepares to move 105.1 KAUU Manti, UT to American Fork where it will have full market coverage of Salt Lake City, the station has dropped its simulcast of Broadway Media Countr...[Read More]

Originally filed in July 2005 and approved by the FCC in January 2008, the docket will mainly see many stations in the Salt Lake City market upgrade and/or move to new frequencies. The first batch of moves have begun to be completed as SLC Divestiture Trust II’s 106.9 KEGH Brigham City has moved to 107.1 in Woodruff from Humpy Peak. The station is currently simulcasting Broadway Media’s “ESPN 700” KALL North Salt Lake City. That move will enable EMF Broadcasting’s 107.5 KKLV Orem to move to Kaysville from the Farnsworth Peak tower site used by many of the stations in the market and Broadway Media’s “Mix 107.9” KUDD...[Read More]
