Just a couple months after flipping Classic Hits “Hippie Radio 105.3” WHPP Humboldt/Jackson TN to Talk as WTJK, Grace Broadcasting Services has moved the format to 93.1 WTJS (formerly WWGM) Alamo. With the move of WTJK’s programming to WTJS, 105.3 has flipped to Sports as “Fox Sports Jackson” running the network’s programming around the clock. The former Christian “Good News Radio” programming heard on 93.1 has in turn moved to 1190 WJPJ Humboldt/99.9 W260BA Clarksburg, 1500 WPOT Trenton, and 1250 WKBL Covington.

Positioned as “The Talk of Jackson”, the calls are a play off the former “TJ Network” name that Forever Media ran until flipping 1390 WTJJ/94.1 W231BU to Classic Country in January 2017. The station is being anchored by Steve Bowers’ “Blue Suede Forever” in mornings from 6-9am. The show broadcasts live from studios at the Dixie Cafe in the Old Country Store in Jackson. Grace Broadcasting has flipped Christian AC “105.3 The Dove” WDVW Humboldt/Jackson, TN to Classic Hits “Hippie Radio 105.3” WHPP. The 60s/70s focused Hippie brand launches with Brad McCoy in mornings and Gregg Rivers in afternoons. McCoy had been working for Grace in sales, while Rivers was most recently in afternoons at Forever Communications now defunct “Rock 92.3” WYNU. Grace Broadcasting co-owner Lacy Ennis told the Jackson Sun, “If we broaden our format, it will help what we lose with The Dove,” Ennis said. “We’ll have a whole new listenership, and there has been a lot more positive comments than negative comments about the change.”

Update 9/17: Forever Communications and Grace Broadcasting Services have completed their station trade in Jackson. Christian AC “97.7 The Dove” WTGP Trenton has moved to 105.3 with new WDVW calls in place. 105.3 had been simulcasting News/Talk 1390 WTJS/94.1 W231BU as WTJW. 97.7 has launched a new Urban AC format as “JJ 97.7” with the JJ standing for “Jammin’ Jackson”.
