Eagle Moves In Augusta To Make Way For Country

Clear Channel CHR “Y102.3” WZNY Augusta is no more. After briefly simulcasting sister Classic Rock “Eagle 105.7” WEKL, WZNY assumed the programming of “The Eagle” enabling 105.7 to flip to Country “G105.7” at 2pm. Clear Channel previously programmed a Country format branded as “The Bull“, first at 105.7 and then on 102.3 from 2004 until 2010. That station went away to make way for the launch of “Y102.3“. In 2007, WEKL moved from 102.3 to 105.7 as part of a frequency swap with The Bull. WZNY registered a 2.2 share in the Spring 2013 ratings trailing Beasley CHR “HD 98.3” WHHD’s 4.8. Beasley’s Country “Kicks 99” WKXC-FM led the market with a 10.1 share.
