KBMG Salt Lake City Moving To 106.3

Alpha Media Spanish CHR “Latino 106.1” KBMG Evanston, WY/Salt Lake City will be the next station to change frequencies as part of the FCC Docket 05-243 series of moves. As the changes continue from the top of the FM band down, KBMG will relocate to 106.3 on Wednesday, September 23 with no changes to its current 89kW horizontal at 647 meters facilities. To promote the move KBMG is giving away $106 twice daily. iHeartMedia moved “Rock 106.5” KAAZ Spanish Fork to 106.7 in early August and will follow-up with the shift of Conservative Talk 105.7 KNRS-FM Centerville to 105.9 at 5pm on October 8. Alpha Media Acquires Adelante Salt Lake City

The deal has been filed with the FCC showing that Alpha will be paying $3.15 million for the three Adelante Media Group stations in the Salt Lake City market. But is Alpha done growing in the market? We hear the company intends to expand its holdings in the market, perhaps following the conclusion of the big frequency shuffle. Salt Lake City Frequency Shuffle Finally Taking Shape

The long gestating FCC Docket 05-243 that will see stations in four states relocate to new frequencies is starting to take place. Originally filed in July 2005 and approved by the FCC in January 2008, the docket will mainly see many stations in the Salt Lake City market upgrade and/or move to new frequencies. The first batch of moves have begun to be completed as SLC Divestiture Trust II’s 106.9 KEGH Brigham City has moved to 107.1 in Woodruff from Humpy Peak. The station is currently simulcasting Broadway Media’s “ESPN 700” KALL North Salt Lake City.
