And the final piece of the puzzle has been revealed. BB Broadcasting will pay $750,000 for CHR “Z106.3” KDLW Los Lunas from American General Media. BB is led by Thomas Bozzuto who operates a Maryland based Real Estate Management company. BB will enter into a pair of agreements to operate the station. American General Media will provide back office services for the station and agree to a $66,000 deal over five years to utilize their equipment at the tower site. BB has also agreed to a Time Brokerage Agreement for Vanguard Media, who is purchasing 101.3 KJFA-FM, to provide programming and marketing services. KAGM Albuquerque Rebrands As Wild 106.7

American General Media completed the relaunch of 106.7 KAGC Los Alamos/Albuquerque today as “Wild 106.7“. The relaunch took place at 12:00pm with a shift from an Urban lean to a more pop lean for the station. As we mentioned in our 12/21 Domain Report, the “Wild” brand has twice been used in the Albuquerque market. From 1997 until 2005 it was heard on 106.3 and 2007 through 2009 on 97.7. Four staffers from Univision’s Albuquerque cluster resigned together to join competitor American General Media. DJ Lopez, PD/Midday host at Rhythmic CHR “Kiss 97.3” KKSS will take the same roles at AGM’s Rhythmic CHR “Power 106.7” KAGM as well as program CHR “Z106.3” KDLW and Alternative “Area 102.9” KARS. Also moving from Kiss to Power for the same positions are Imaging Director/Afternoon Host Johnny V and Music Director/Nights MQ. Among the many format changes that took place on Monday one has stuck out to as a template on how not to manage your audience before, during, and after the change. On Thursday, American General Media announced it would be moving Rhythmic CHR “Power 106.3” KAGM Albuquerque on Monday at 8:00am to the 106.7 frequency that was home to CHR “OMG Radio” KDLW, while being quiet about what was happening on the other side. The “Power” side of things was handled perfectly. The station hyped its move on-air all weekend. Update 4/1: The Rhythmic “Power” format moved from 106.3 to 106.7 just after 8am this morning. The Mainstream CHR format of “OMG 106.7” went the opposite direction with a new moniker. KAGM is now branded as “Z106.3 Hit Music Now”. Original Report 3/28: American General Media Urban “Power 106.3” KAGM Los Lunas/Albuquerque, NM will make a slight move up the dial on April 1. At 8:00am on Monday, Power will move to 106.7 displacing CHR “OMG 106.7” KDLW Los Alamos.
