Press Communications Classic Rock “107.1 The Boss” WWZY Long Branch/99.7 WBHX Tuckerton NJ debuted its on-air lineup this morning. Mornings will be hosted by Rob Acampora and Wendy McClure with “The Morning Kickstart”. Jeff Rafter Named Press Communications VP/Programming

Jeff Rafter has exited his role as OM/PD/Afternoon host at Beasley AC “Magic 98.3” WMGQ New Brunswick NJ to join Press Communications as Vice President of Programming. Rafter will directly oversee Hot AC “Fun 107.1” WWZY Long Branch, Oldies 1410 WHTG Eatontown, and Soft AC “99.7 The Island” WBHX Tuckerton NJ. He had been with WMGQ since 2007 and had been with Greater Media since 2002 as OM/PD of Classic Hits 100.1 WJRZ Manahawkin. Rafter also spent a decade as OM/PD of AC 92.7 WOBM-FM Toms River. Press also owns CHR “B98.5” WBBO Ocean Acres and Country simulcast “Thunder 106” 106.3 WKMK Eatontown/106.5 WTHJ Bass River Township NJ.

Press Communications Elects New COO/Market President

Press Communications has hired Don Dalesio as its new Chief Operating Officer and Market President for its five stations in Monmouth/Ocean NJ. Dalesio joins Press from Townsquare Media where he served as Market President for their Monmouth/Ocean properties. He has been in the market since 1996 when he joined Nassau Broadcasting to oversee the stations that would later transfer to Millenium Radio Group and then Townsquare. 99.7 The Island Launches Jersey Shore Classic Hits Duel

After the run of commercial-free Christmas music, Press has flipped 99.7 WBHX Tuckerton NJ to Classic Hits utilizing the same “99.7 The Island” moniker it began using in November. Focusing on hits of the 60s and 70s, the new format places WBHX in direct competition with Greater Media’s 100.1 WJRZ Manahawkin. Ted Efaw, who had been working for Press as a newscaster and reporter, adds Program Director duties for The Island. WBHX has flipped to “99.7 The Island” promoting “Commercial-Free Christmas Music All Season Long”. WBHX serves the southern Ocean County half of the Monmouth/Ocean market.

More Fun At The Jersey Shore

Press Communications Hot AC “107.1 FM” WWZY Long Branch/99.7 WBHX Tuckerton, NJ once again has a name. The stations have rebranded today as “Fun 107.1” positioned as “More Music, More Fun”. The stations had dropped their previous “Breeze” moniker in April 2013 along with a shift of the then-AC to a more current/recurrent presentation.

Jersey Shore’s Breeze Blows Away

Update 4/19: WWZY/WBHX will rebrand as simply “107.1 FM“. The new positioning is “A Music Radio Station“. The “Pork Roll & Eggs” morning show hosted by Nina Siciliano and Tom Devoy will move on Monday from sister CHR “B98.5” WBBO to WWZY/WBHX. They will be replaced at WBBO by current Middayer/Music Director Kelso and night host Sara Cucci. While the format at “107.1 FM” remains AC, the station has streamlined its music library and is focusing on more currents/recurrents than it had as “The Breeze“.
