KWXS Bend Flips To Mainstream CHR

Combined Communications Rhythmic CHR “Wild 107.7” KWXS Prineville/Bend, OR has flipped to Mainstream CHR “107.7 The Beat“. The move places KWXS closer in competition to Gross Communications CHR “Power 94” KXIX Sunriver. It follows Combined hiring former KEHK Eugene PD Maverick as PD/Afternoon host for KWXS and PD of Country “99.7 The Bull” KMTK in November.

Bend Gets Wild

This one went unnoticed for awhile. Combined Communications debuted Rhythmic CHR “Wild 107.7” KWXS Bend, OR on April 4 pitting the station against Gross Communications “Power 94” KXIX. Lonnie Chapin is hosting mornings from 6-10am and the station is currently jockless the remainder of the day. KWXS is a new sign-on operating with 800 watts at 570 meters. The station has already applied to increase power to 2.5kW from the same tower location. Wild 107.7 joins a cluster in Bend that already includes News/Talk 1110 KBND, Classic Rock “98.3 The Twins” KTWS, Country “99.7 The Mountain” KMTK, and AAA “Clear 101.7” KLRR.
