iHeartMedia has launched Regional Mexican “93.7 El Patrón” 1230 KOY/93.7 K229DB Phoenix. The new format replaces Conservative Talk “KFYI 2” on the station and its recently launched translator. The new station features content from iHeart’s Premium Choice network and gives the company a way to include Regional Mexican programming in combo sales buys. The 250w/441m translator operates with a highly directional signal from the South Mountain tower farm covering downtown Phoenix, Tempe, and parts of Chandler, Mesa and Scottsdale.
iHeartMedia has named Aaron Trimmer as its new Program Director for Talk 550 KFYI, “KFYI 2” 1230 KOY, and Sports “Fox Sports 910” KGME Phoenix. Trimmer comes to Phoenix from iHeartMedia’s Richmond VA cluster where he programmed News/Talk 1140 WRVA and “Fox Sports 910” WRNL. He has also programmed for the company in Birmingham, Huntsville AL, and Syracuse NY. Clear Channel has flipped “KFYI Business Channel” 1230 KOY Phoenix to Conservative Talk as “KFYI2“. Billed as “The Next Generation Of Talk”, KFYI2 is built around younger hosts. The new lineup includes Armstrong & Getty in mornings based out of 650 KSTE Sacramento. Syndicated Dana Loesch will follow from 10am-1pm. Former “New Jersey 101.5” afternoon co-host Casey Bartholomew will host a local show from 1 to 3pm.
