Station Sales Following the merger of Port Broadcasting and Aruba Capital Partners announced this week, Port is expanding into Bangor ME with the purchase of Pine Tree Broadcasting’s three AMs and one translator for $172,000. Oldies 1230 WGUY Veazie, Soft AC “94.1 The Wave” 1340 WBAN/94.1 W231CH Bangor, and Classic Country “1400 The Country Road” WCYR Veazie began being operated by Port via LMA on December 1. Charles Begin’s Pine Treen Broadcasting acquired the stations in December 2015 from the estate of Daniel Priestly for $90,000. WWNZ Bangor Jumps On The Country Road

Pine Tree Broadcasting has flipped recent acquisition 1400 WWNZ Veazie/Bangor ME to Classic Country “The Country Road“. The station had previously been operating a News/Talk format to complement sister News/Talk 1340 WVZS. It is the second flip at the cluster since taking over following Oldies 1230 WGUY/94.1 W231CH becoming a simulcast of Soft AC “93.7 The Wave” WRMO Milbridge. GM Paul Dupuis described the new station to Fox Bangor as “playing the greatest hits from the decades back, from Waylon and Willie, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, the early Reba McIntyre and George Strait collection.”

Station Sales Pine Tree Broadcasting is acquiring two AMs and a translator from two companies held by the estate of Dan Priestly. Innovative Advertising Consultants sells “Oldies 94.1” 1230 WGUY Veazie and 94.1 W231CH Bangor ME, while Waterfront Communications sells News/Talk 1400 WWNZ Veazie for a combined $90,000. Pine Tree will begin operating both stations via Time Brokerage Agreement on Monday, December 28. Pine Tree also owns Soft AC “93.7 The Wave” WRMO Milbridge ME. Rocking M Media is purchasing Oldies 92.7 KWME Wellington and News/Talk 1130 KLEY/100.3 K262CQ Wellington and News/Talk 1550 KKLE Winfield KS from Johnson Enterprises.
