Salem Shuffles Programming At Three Portland AMs

Salem Media has adjusted the brands and programming lineups at three of its Portland OR AMs. Talk 860 KPAM Pamplin, which Salem begin operating via LMA earlier this year, has rebranded as “860 The Answer“. With the rebranding KPAM has trimmed an hour off of its morning show hosted by Tim Hohl and Terry Travis to run from 6-9am. That allows the station to add a third hour of Salem’s Dennis Prager Show which will now run from 9am-12pm. From 12-3pm the station swaps out the Clark Howard Show for Laura Ingraham. The 3-6pm “Afternoon Northwest” hosted by Michael Herrington and Eric Peterson is rebranded as “The Afternoon Answer”. Michael Medved from 6-9pm and Joe Pags from 9pm-12am remain in place. Salem Media Group has announced it is now operating Pamplin Broadcasting’s two Portland OR AMs via LMA. The addition of News/Talk 860 KPAM Troutdale and Adult Standards “Sunny 1550” KKOV Vancouver WA increases Salem’s holdings in the Portland market to seven stations as the company already owns Regional Mexican “93.1 El Rey” KRYP Gladstone, Christian Preaching 93.9 KPDQ-FM Portland, Christian AC “104.1 The Fish” KFIS-FM Scappoose, Christian Preaching “True Talk 800” KPDQ Portland, and Conservative Talk “Talk 1640” KDZR Lake Oswego. Portland AM Duo Sold

Pamplin Media Group has announced it will sell Talk 860 KPAM Troutdale OR and Standards “Sunny 1550” KKOV Vancouver WA in the Portland market to Tron Dinh Do’s Intelli LLC. No terms have been announced yet. Pamplin states it is selling the stations to focus on its publishing operations and expand the digital reach of a group built around the Portland Tribune and 24 community newspapers in the region. Intelli owns four other stations focusing on brokered foreign language programming across the country with one in Atlanta, one in Dallas, and two in San Jose.
