WGST Atlanta Flips To ESPN Deportes; Limbaugh Moves To WSB

Update 9/28: At 3pm today, WGST dropped News/Talk in favor of Spanish Sports “640 ESPN Deportes“. The flip pairs WGST with sister Regional Mexican “105.3 El Patron” WBZY in a combo that is identical to the El Patron/ESPN Deportes combo Clear Channel has in Chicago as well. The old WGST website is directing listeners to the site of 1160 WCFO for coverage of Georgia State Football that had aired on the station. Original Report 9/26: The News/Talk format of Clear Channel’s 640/92.3 WGST Atlanta will soon be no more as Rush Limbaugh moves crosstown to Cox’ 750/95.5 WSB. Limbaugh wil...[Read More]

Update 8/29 5:30pm: 96.1 WKLS will flip to CHR as “Power 96.1“. Power961.com was registered earlier this week and currently features a full site for “Atlanta’s New Hit Music Station”. The site seems to indicate a more Mainstream CHR approach to what Clear Channel is currently doing on “Wild 105.7/96.7“. The current occupant of 96.1, Alternative “Project 9-6-1” which we expect to relocate to 105.3, is promoting what can best be described as “a sad announcement” at 7:20 Thursday morning. Update 8/9: Clear Channel has registered an additional four domains ei...[Read More]
